Student-Centered Farm Animal Visits for Preschool through Elementary School Programs
Haystack Homestead offers fully insured, specially designed weekday morning educational farm animal visits for schools, preschools, early learning centers, childcare programs, camps, and clubs. These visits are scheduled Monday–Friday and are wrapped up by noon, creating a well-paced, thoughtfully structured experience that fits beautifully into school routines.
Our animals, staff, and program structure are carefully chosen to support learning, fun, safety, and respectful interaction. Presentations are adjusted to suit the developmental level of the students, from preschool through elementary gracdes

What the Students Experience
Each one hour visit is customized to suit your program and may include:
-
An introduction to the farm animals brought on-site
-
A live demonstration on how to safely and respectfully feed animals
-
A fully supervised feeding station for hands-on participation
-
Guided interaction focused on kindness, patience, and observation
-
Natural animal behaviors occasionally used as age-appropriate teaching moments around sharing, taking turns, empathy, and managing emotions
For older students, conversations may naturally expand to include basic animal care, responsibility, and simple biology concepts. We are always happy to shape the educational focus around your current classroom themes and curriculum.
