Sharing Post from Serendipity Sanctuary: Blue Our Regal Pasture Monarch

Blue has never been formally given a title…but he has unquestionably claimed one.
Around here, Blue is King of the Pasture. Our eldest Angora goat with magnificent horns and a magnificently mischievous personality to match, Blue carries himself with confidence, curiosity, and plenty of mischief.

The Escape Specialist
Blue holds a distinction unmatched by any other resident: He is the only one who consistently escapes the pasture.
In the beginning, we rushed out every time we spotted him beyond the fence. But Blue made it clear he wasn’t staging a jailbreak - just a brief inspection.
He rarely wanders more than about 50 feet. Just far enough to explore and find something to get into.
A Taste for Donations
As a nonprofit sanctuary, we’re grateful to receive weekly leftover food donations.
Most animals patiently wait to be served. But Blue has an uncanny ability to locate the boxes and sample whatever suits his mood. A little investigating, a little nibbling - all carried out with zero remorse.
Gentle, Always
Despite his dramatic horns, Blue is extraordinarily kind. He leans into affection, welcomes attention, and greets people with a calm sweetness that surprises everyone who expects intimidation. Blue looks formidable – but he’s a marshmallow.
Apples Are Never Safe 🍎
Blue’s legendary love of apples deserves its own chapter.
Standing proudly on his hind legs (nearly my height), he has perfected the art of the polite but decisive apple theft. Festival guest laugh. Apples are surrendered. Blue is delighted.
Honoring Our Elders
Blue is a beautiful reminder of something we hold close at Serendipity Sanctuary: Aging is not a decline in worth.
Our senior residents still play, still explore, still charm, still demand snacks, and still fill our days with joy. They are not “past their prime.” They are treasures.
Yes… He’s One of My Favorites 💙
We’re probably not supposed to admit that. But it’s true. Because Blue is a very long time resident. He is both regal and ridiculous. Independent and affectionate. Old — and absolutely magnificent.
Long live the King. 👑🐐
Support Blue & Our Senior Residents
Older sanctuary animals often require extra care — specialized nutrition, joint support, dental monitoring, and thoughtful management as they age. If Blue has made you smile, consider helping us provide comfort and care for him and others like him.
Every donation directly supports:
• Feed & supplements• Veterinary care• Shelter & bedding• Lifelong sanctuary
Because growing old should be safe, gentle, and filled with dignity.
